Nisbet and Henderson share SPFL award

Raith Rovers’ Kevin N is bet and Edinburgh City’ s Blair Henderson have won the inaugural SPFL Tartan Boot award.

The special edition award, created in partnershi­p match ball supplier Mitre, was introduced this season to recognise the top goalscorer­s across all four SPFL divisions.

Both players scored 30 league goals for their clubs this season, Henderson, 24, surpassing his goal tally of 16 from last season by November and recorded his best season to date for City. Nisbet, who joined Raith last summer, helped the club to third place in League 1 and secure a playoff spot.

A total of 2038 goals were scored across all four leagues during the season.

Said N is bet said :“It’ s an incredible honour to be recognised by the SPFL for my goalscorin­g achievemen­ts this season, and to share the very first Tartan Boot award with Blair.

“Regular game time at Stark’s Park has been key to my developmen­t as a striker this season, and I’m glad I’ve been able to repay the faith shown in me by the management.

“I’ d also like to thank my team-mates, who have contribute­d massively by creating opp or tunities for me to score.”

Henderson said: “This has been the best season of my career so far. Both Kevin and I have been neck and neck for most of the season. I thought I could edge it but I’m pleased to share the award with him.

“There’ s been a real buzz about the club this season, and I think that has shone through in my performanc­es.”

R angers’ Alfredo Morelos received the Ladbrokes Pre - miership Tar tan Ball award after scoring 18 goals.
