Glass menagerie: Birds art takes centre stage
Vulnerable bird species are the inspiration for the exquisite work that glassmaker Amanda Simmons will be showing at this weekend’s Spring Fling open studios festival. The three-day event starts this Saturday until Bank Holiday Monday in 93 studios and extra galleries across the Dumfries & Galloway region. Amanda has spent the last four years perfecting the techniques for her elegant and delicate designs which include representations of Arctic Terns - from, her studio in Corsock, near Castle Douglas.
