Funeral date set for former boxer

The funeral of ex-boxer Bradley Welsh is set to take place on June 7.

The reformed criminal was shot as he walked downstairs to his West End flat on April 17.

Details of the 48-year- old’s funeral were revealed by the boxing gym he owned in the Capital and relatives have urged anyone who knew him to attend.

The service will take place at Mortonhall Crematorium and starts at 2pm.

A Holy rood Boxing Gym tweet said: “With a heavy heart I write this... We will all have our chance to say goodbye to Bradley John Welsh, son of Edinburgh on Friday 7th of June, 2pm at Mortonhall.”

Sean Orman, 28, appeared in Edinburgh Sheriff Court earlier this month charged with murdering Bradley outside his Chester Street apartment.
