Johnson pens new deal with French giants

Scotland under -20 secondrow E wan Johnson has received a boost ahead of next month’s World Championsh­ip in Argentina with the news that he has signed a new three-year deal with Racing 92 in France.

Johnson has lived in France since he was four and the 19-year-old speaks French fluently, growing up in Brittany and most recently playing for Racing 92’ sunder -23 team.

And he has clearly impressed the coaches at the French giants where Finn Russell plays because he has taken to social media to announce that he will be staying there for the next three years.

He will most likely be playing for the under-23s, but he will hop e to push on and battle for a first XV place at the star-laden club.

Johnson said :“I am absolutely made up to have signed in Paris for the next three years. I can’t wait to see what these next few seasons have in store.”

Due to a father from Bathgate, Johnson got involved in the Scotland age-grade set-up and has not looked back since.

To date he has 12 caps for the under-20s and the big event in Argentina between June 4 and 22 will be his second World Championsh­ip at this level.
