Boy rescued after falling 66ft from aqueduct

A 15- year- old boy taking par tina Duke of Edinburgh walking expedition has been rescued after falling 66ft from an aqueduct in Perthshire.

The incident happened near Balquidder at about 2pm on Thursday.

Fire service rope and water rescue crews from Fife and Edinburgh, along with mountain rescuers and ambulance staff, had to be called in and carried out a complex operation to rescue the boy.

The Scottish Fire and Recue Service said the boy was safely recovered and had suffered only minor injuries.
