Hibs to collect Mcginn bonus if Villa go up

Hibernian will land a hefty bonus if Aston Villa win promotion to the English Premier League by defeating Derby County in their promotion play- off final at Wembley on Monday.

The payment would come as a result of t he transfer which took midfielder John Mcginn from Easter Road to Villa last summer for an initial £ 3 million fee. As part of the deal, Hibs negotiated an agreement by which they would receive an extra sum if the Birmingham- based club make the step up from the Championship.

Mcginnh as played a major part thus far and has been voted player of the year by the Villa fans.

Meanwhile, Hibs f ans can look forward to a prestige friendly match against Newcastle United at Easter Road during their build- up to the 2019- 20 campaign.

The Easter Road club yesterday announced their pre- season schedule which begins with a visit to Arbroath, followed by matches against Dunfermline, Carlisle and Newcastle.
