may not be much better. Narrow agenda activism, nationalism and spur of the moment enthusiasms driven by all kinds of hidden players.

Debatable Lands Scottish Labour stand for nothing. In the 80’s, the Labour Party stood shoulder to shoulder with the miners; people respected Labour for that and Labour meant something. The troughers of Holyrood only stand shoulder to shoulder with the other troughers of Holyrood.

Hoditanddodit Both Leonard and Davidson have led their parties to the edge of oblivion. They speak as if they are on the brink of taking power but in fact both have played their jokers and are now further behind than when they started.

andrew b dickson They need to be a Scottish party. Nodding to head office instructions will, longterm, get them nowhere, ditto with the Tories. At least Labour still have planty of support from younger people. The Tories, on the other hand, have a bigger problem than they think. All good for proindy folks

Aitch-aitch Richard Leonard is quite possibly the least likely candidate for leadership imaginable and the decision of the Labour Party membership to elect him was one of astounding and unimaginable stupidity.

Arch Stainton I have no idea who Labour represent nowadays. Most of the air has leaked out of Labour’s balloon and there’s no putting it back so changing the leader will be futile. For those old enough to remember, the Labour Party died in the winter of 1978.

General Custer I recall the days that Labour had the lion’s share of voters in Scotland and their supporters would have voted in a wheeled bin as long as it sported a red rosette. They are living proof that if a political party takes its voters for granted, it can very rapidly fall from grace.

Brian J Airports need to become alcohol free.

Richard Hoare Nope. They need to become walloper free.

Edmund North Too much money to be made.

The Font Most passengers seem decent enough but a low fare WILL attract society’s lowlife elements. I increasingly see and hear them in my many trips through Edinburgh International Airport. Perhaps some real jail time for those to whom reasonably civilised behaviour is alien? Plus a 10-year ban on future air travel?

Miss Dee Meaner If a person appears to have been drinking when they present their boarding pass they could be asked to blow into a single use breathalyser and if their blood alcohol is higher than a certain level they would be refused entry to the flight and forfeit their ticket so they would have to pay for another ticket on a later flight.

scottishman This happens so often on Jet2 flights to the Balearics. Passengers already drunk when they get on the flights are given as much as they like to drink. Jet2 and other airlines better get their act together before something serious occurs.

Big Eck There are far too many instances of this happening in the UK. A jail sentence should be given (not suspended) and the jurisdiction should be that of the country where they boarded.

Alba Should be banning orders the same as football. No air travel for 10 years. It might give them long enough to grow up.
