Oil companies seal new orders

Energy services group Petrofach as been awarded two North Sea contract extensions worth a combined $32 million (£25.3m).

The firm said it had secured a 12-month renewal from longstandi­ng client Total E&P UK for the supply of operations and maintenanc­e (O&M) support to its Alwyn and Dunbar platforms in the northern North Sea – a role Petrofac has held for 14 years.

The firm has also been awarded a 12-month exten - sion from an unnamed internatio­nal oil company under which it will continue to provide offshore and on shore O& M support to one of its platforms in the central North Sea.

Both contracts will be managed from Petrofac’s roundthe-clock operations hub, through which all its labour supply contracts are run.

Nick Short en, managing director for Petrofac’s engineerin­g and production services business in the Western Hemisphere, said :“These contract renewals reflect the strength and collaborat­ive nature of our long-standing relationsh­ips with both [companies] and are testament to the knowledge our teams have gained our clients’ assets.”

The group currently supports 45 assets in the North Sea, and 80 per cent of these contracts have been held for a decade or more.

Meanwhile, Aberdeenhe­ad quartered well techno logy business Deep C asing Tools has sealed a new multi-million-dollar order in the Middle East.

The firm said it had secured a deal to supply an unnamed operator with 27 Turbo ca ser tools–a high-speed reaming system that enables drilling teams to land casings and intermedia­te liners at target depth.

Neil Hathaway, region manager for Deep Ca sing Tools, said :“This is a very exciting time for us, as we build on the already positive impact of increasing our presence in the Middle East.”
