Froome and Yates move up standings in Dauphine

British duo Chris Froome and Adam Yates moved into the top 10 of the Cri teri um du D au phi ne general classifica­tion after a hilly second stage.

Bahrain-merida’s Dylan Teuns took the yellow jersey and stage victory on the 180 -kilometre ride from Mauriac to Craponne-surArzon after overhaulin­g Guillaume Martin in a twoman sprint finish.

Behind the duo, Jakob Fuglsang took the bonus seconds for finishing third as he beat a group of fellow GC favourites to the finishing line.

Four-time Tour de France winner Froo me( Team Ineos) and last year’ sDa uphi ne runner-up Yates (Mitch elton-Scott) were both in that group and sit 24 seconds down on Teuns in the new GC standings.

The 29-year-old from Belgium, riding for the BoelsDolma­ns team, triumphed over the 157km route from Beccles to Stowmarket in Suffolk.

But the 21-year- old was eventually reeled in over the final couple of miles and D’ Ho ore won the sprint to the finish and claimed the green jersey.
