#JEREMYKYLE

The Jeremy Kyle show was cancelled after a participant died shortly after appearing on it. The Digital, Culture, Media and Sport committee invited Kyle as part of their investigation into reality TV, but he has declined.

@Cyberlin said: “The people who went on the show knew full well what they were getting into, and I’ll bet they all signed things for it to be put out. But we are living in a society with a blame blame culture, never any personal responsibility always somebody else’s fault”

@British8801 commented: “Don’t think he likes to be on the receiving end being a guest.”

@Bbmorg posted: “Should have told him there were some vulnerable working class folks to humiliate.”

@Christov79 said: “As much as I think he’s a odious man I don’t blame him for not going. Those parliamentary committees are nothing more than a public kangaroo court done for the cameras, a chance for MPS to get their face on the news for having a go at someone the public doesn’t like.”

@Jay0d89 posted: “Maybe he doesn’t fancy being made a scapegoat when worse TV shows have had more contestants end their lives and are still on air.” @rail_suck said: “We are wasting taxpayers’ money on this inquiry! If people choose to put themselves on a reality programme that’s down to them, not the producers or host. Most of the people who went on the Kyle show were attentionseekers wanting their five minutes of fame.” @andyurwin84 added: “Interesting. He doesn’t like to be grilled in front of a live audience . . .”

#MILKSHAKE

Paul Crowther, 32, admitted in court to throwing a milkshake at Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage in Newcastle city centre last month. He’s been sentenced to 150 hours of community service and fined £350.

@barbarastjohn posted: “Rightly so. We cannot allow our next generation to see this as a acceptable because it isn’t. If we disagree with a person you have no right to throw milkshake over them. We need respect back in society.”

@Auldnick1 said: “Is there a fund set up to pay his fine?”

@Hanzabananza47 added: “Is throwing a milkshake over someone actually a crime under ‘common assault and criminal damage’ or is it just because it happened to Farage?”
