#MARR

Foreign Secretary and leadership hopeful Jeremy Hunt, when asked on the Andrew Marr Show if he would be prepared to look people in the eye and say: “You’ve got to lose your job due to no deal Brexit”, replied: “I would do it with a heavy heart.”

@WINLUNGSD said: “‘I would do it with a heavy heart’. That’s only because yours is made of stone.”

@vauxste felt, however: “Who the hell says that a no deal will mean job losses. The remainers seem to know everything that will happen when we leave. Don’t forget, EU countries deal with us as well for their own economy and businesses to succeed. This Project Fear is going too far now.”

@Sempertyrannis added: “Theresa May pledged to take us out; Hunt is another May, he cannot be trusted.”

@chel4sea thought: “In case people haven’t noticed, jobs are being lost and we haven’t even left and people are blaming Brexit even if company directors are saying it’s not!”

Later, the union leader Len Mccluskey @ Lenmccluskey, who also appeared on the show, tweeted: “A no deal Brexit will be a disaster for jobs and the economy. My union is fundamentally opposed to it and I don’t need to be told by #Marr or anyone the impact a no deal will have on our members.”

#DONALDTRUMP

Donald Trump became the first sitting US president to set foot in North Korea after he crossed the demarcation line at the DMZ to shake hands with Kim Jong-un yesterday.

@potpourri72 took the view: “A planned charade by two dictators!

But @Jarthurmerritt argued: “Trump, bringing peace while the political elitist class demands war. While the media demands war and strife for their ratings and where morons follow their cult leaders to the satisfaction of the political elitist class.” However, @grant_baines commented: “It must be a relief to The Donald to have finally gotten away from all those G20 leaders and go back to mixing with killers.” And @shirleydavis18 added: “He’s probably trying to set up a real estate deal because after his term he will be jailbait.”

@ninomontana84 thought: “I can’t stand him but this was history and this was pretty cool to see live.”
