A flight for sore eyes

Gauff wasn’t the only unseeded teenager playing on Manic Monday. The Diary reported at the weekend how flying corks were landing on the SW19 courts but this incident was more serious with Mum requiring an eye operation, forcing her to miss Yastremska’s win at the Thailand Open. Let that be a lesson to those demented hedonists unconcerned about the state of the country, although they’ll probably ignore it, being Brexit-proof anyway.
