Yesterday was the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission blasting off for the Moon.

@Thenabugamer said: “They can’t get off the ground today. Even with this over tech world we live in. How could they 50 years ago when life was in black & white?”

@Jeremiahkermin wrote: “Absolute legends, the whole heaps of them.”

@Diaryofamental3 blasted: “An obscene waste of money which could have alleviated so much suffering in the world. And for what? So that one bunch of elites could shout ‘we’re better than you!’ at a rival political system.”

@Isabellakoldras added: “Hard to comprehend the fact that my iphone today’s got more computing power than the computer that engineered the July 16, 1969 #Moon landing with the #Apollo50th Heroes.”

@Bsue20 wrote: “I feel very honoured to live through this piece of history. Feels just like yesterday.”

@Markleneve said: “I was 9 when the moon landings happened. I remember watching it via a rare live broadcast on a b&w TV in West Africa. Even at 9, I understood the magnitude of what was happening & going outside to gaze up at the moon & imagining those 3 men were actually there at that time!”

Twitter users were missing the former president.

@urkalynne wrote: “#Obamawasbetterat everything. Literally every. single. thing.”

#HMMURTI said: “#Obamawasbetterat being a human being.

@trafotoz piped up: “#Obamawasbetterat showing his wife some love and respect instead of ignoring her.”

@Beckse72 added: “I could list so many things but something so simple as smiling. When Obama smiled it was kind, loving & full of joy. When Trump smiles it’s creepy, full of hate & sinister!”

@sirdukedevin tweeted, with a cute picture: “#Obamawasbetterat making a baby smile... because they know.”

@Mattison said: “#Obamawasbetterat genuinely caring for all people while also leading, championing, and defending our nation with a focused, fierce strength.”

@Ericwolfson wrote; “#Obamawasbetterat inspiring our youth.”
