Sick building?
Edinburgh’s new children’s hospital could be delayed for a whole year, an MSP has suggested after Health Secretary Jeane Freeman announced more checks are needed on the £150 million building.

Stuart Brown SNP keep on proving they are no good for Scotland’s health.
Alex Slamondski Just imagine if this was happening under a Tory or Labour-run Scottish “government”. The SNP would be apoplectic with “outrage” and “demanding” statements from the First Minister of Scotland.
The SNP don’t care about Scotland, it is so obvious, it is getting hard to remember what a great place Scotland was before the SNP trashed it.
Roastin Tim Davison, chief executive of NHS Lothian, said until checks were completed and a timeline for the ventilation work was known it was not possible to estimate when the building could be fully occupied“So could be more than a year? Shenghis Mckhan This whole issue indicates a complete lack of project oversight during construction by the client and possibly a very poorly written contract. Water, ventilation and drainage are primary systems which should have been scrutinised for compliance with the relevant National Standards by experts during the bid review process. This is the time to identify potential issues with the contractors’ proposals and discuss deviations from the Scope of Work specifications in Invitation to Bid document
Gordon Clifford Ah well, you have to admit it. The SNP devolved administration is highly consistent. Give them a responsibility and they will make a mess of it. Health, education, police, transport. All being ruined. Vote SNP to drag Scotland kicking and screaming back into the 19th century.
