Alleged assault on child, three, in shopping centre

Police are appealing for information after an alleged assault on a threeyear-old child which happened about 1:15pm on Friday in the Overgate Shopping Centre.

The incident happened in the upper mall of the shopping centre near Millie’s Cookies.

The child was being carried by a man described as being of Asian ethnicity.

He is about six feet tall, between 30 and 40 years old, wearing a fleece burgundy body warmer and dark jeans.

Witnesses described the child as being distressed by the incident but unhurt.
