Lost legacy
Any sensible Scottish Government would have stepped in to safeguard strategic assets such as Prestwick Airport and Ferguson shipyard for the nation (Keith Howell, Letters, 30 September). If there was an easy route to profitability, I am sure we would have read about it by now from opposition politicians.
Other small independent countries like Norway and Denmark are world leaders in shipbuilding and building renewable energy structures.
Therefore, a more pertinent question should be: why, after billions of oil and gas revenues were sent to Westminster over 30 years, there is no equivalent legacy for Scotland?
