Fabulous fauna
Red deer (and roe), red squirrels, rabbits (by the hundred),
mountain hare and much, much more I can guarantee Alun Davies (“What wildlife?”, Letters, 26 September) will see here in the southern uplands of the Cairngorms in 24 hours, let alone two weeks.
I can reassure Alun, too, that our Scottish Government is not so blinded by independence as to neglect our wildlife. They are already curtailing the sporting estates that protect this abundance, and, with luck, before long we’ll have the desert he encountered on his walk in the west.
