Digging it: Drilling rig contract awarded for Seagull oil project in UK North Sea

Neptune Energy and its joint venture partners BP and Japex yesterday said that Valaris had been awarded a contract to provide a jack-up drilling rig for the Seagull development oil project in the UK North Sea. Valaris will provide the Rowan Gorilla VI rig to drill four wells for the develop ment, in the central North Sea. The 18-month drilling campaign is scheduled to start next year. Neptune Energy’s UK managing director, Pete Jones, said: “This is an important milestone for the project and a further demonstration of how the development is progressing.”
