Man fined for attack at bowling club
A man has been ordered to pay £750 compensation after a fight at a crown green bowling club.
Darryll Freeburn, the nephew of the vice-president of Port Glasgow Bowling Club in Inverclyde, punched treasurer and secretary Sandy Wotherspoon, 58.
Greenock Sheriff Court heard that Freeburn, 28, approached his victim and threatened: “I’m going to do you.” Mr Wotherspoon’s wound had to be treated with three stitches.
Freeburn told the court that he had acted in selfdefence.
