Man charged after Airdrie abduction and death
A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a father who was found seriously injured on a road.
Police were called to reports of a disturbance in a house on Frew Street, Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, early on 19 August.
Colin Macdonald, 59, was found in critical condition a short time later in nearby Greengairs. He died the following day. A 29-year-old man has now been arrested and charged and is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court today.
Mr Mcdonald’s family said: “Our dad Colin Macdonald was the best father we could have asked for. He was an amazing grandfather and an adored uncle, cousin, nephew and friend.
“We feel like we are stuck inanightmarethatwecan’t wake up from and that just keeps getting worse.”
