Dundee deal continues James Gibb’s buying spree

- By HANNAH BURLEY

James Gibb Residential Factors has expanded into Dundee after acquiring the factoring division of chartered surveyor and property consultant Graham + Sibbald.

The purchase, full details of which were not disclosed, comes hot on the heels of James Gibb’s takeover of Life Property Management in August, which created the second largest factoring business in Scotland.

James Gibb, which now has around 45,000 properties under management, said it is eyeing further acquisitions in Scotland and is also looking at moving into the block management market south of the Border.

Chief executive Douglas Weir said: “This acquisition gives us the potential to open an office in Dundee in order to complement our existing premises in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. This will allow us to offer a truly local service.”
