#SAVEPIERS

An online petition for Piers Morgan to be sacked from Good Morning Britain has been signed by thousands. The petition takes issue with Morgan’s view on gender and transgender issues.

@Dannydutch said: “Just a reminder that @ piersmorgan released fake photos of torture in Iraq that endangered the lives of British soldiers, refused to apologise and rightfully got sacked. So no, don’t #Savepiers.”

@o9m9g9 posted: “If you think Piers should go for having an opinion then you need to grow up. On most news shows the presenters aren’t allowed an opinion but on #GMB they are. He has an opinion that a lot of people actually have. No one should be fired for having an opinion.”

@myfriendsonfire said: “The amount of people who think freedom of speech means they can be bigoted without consequences is astounding.”

@Th3_mech4nic commented: “If you don’t like what he does then don’t watch him. ” @Lifeasaa_ agreed: “I don’t always agree with everything he says but he does create some interesting debates and is definitely a conversationstarter. The idea that he should be fired is bonkers.” @Morrighancorbel added “Piers is an important part of our national heritage and history, and very useful for hijacking stupid hashtags.”

#BREXIT

Leaked Conservative Party leaflets suggest the party is preparing for a delay to Brexit.

@Howittandrew said: “Ever heard of preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. This along with the no deal preparations are just that.”

@Painterwrites replied: “Hoping for the best. The extent of Tory strategy for the past three-and-a-half years.”

@tometotom commented: “Can’t the Tories just make a pact with the Brexit Party rather than attacking them? It’s pointless.”

@Kursaalflyer posted: “Good old Nigel. Split the Tory vote.”

@Telthetrekkie added: “Something something ditch.”
