Good advice?

-

The SNP has written to senior broadcasters offering advice on how to hold Tories to account on Scottish independence. A “patronising” email gives tips on how to make sure Conservatives are “tied in knots” during interviews on television and radio, according to reports.

And telling a nation what they can and cannot do has not been patronising for decades, or even centuries?

Andrew Downie Love the final part. “An SNP spokesman said:

“It was disappointing so many Tories appeared unable to accept the [election] result or understand what it meant.” Remove election and insert referendum – works both ways folks.

Greg Stephen If these so-called journalists did their jobs properly – impartially – they wouldn’t need pointers on how to conduct interviews.

Joan Summers Maybe if we had a fair and balanced media that email wouldn’t have to have been sent.

Connal Macbride This from the party that refuses freedom of information requests that prove their abysmal record.

Kirsty Leslie I wonder how many emails have been silently received from the Tories and the UK Government over the years?

Karen Nichols Trying to control the media – not worrying at all.

Robert Anderson That doesn’t bode well for an independent Scotland. It looks more like a dictatorship with statecensored media

Jonathan Innes No, it’s about trying to get an equal playing field. The media should be impartial so every politician and party should be treated the same. If they scrutinise one party then the same style of interviews should be put to every party/mp.

Angie Connor I suggest the SNP focus on trying to answer the questions that continually demonstrate how ill-advised their independence plans are
