Beach booze ban to hit spring break

Spring breakers in the US have been warned they will not be allowed to drink alcohol on the beach in a Florida town trying to curb rowdy parties.

The Panama City News Herald reported that the month-long ban is paired with a 2am deadline to buy alcohol anywhere in the city.

Panama City Police Chief Drew Whitman said a zero tolerance policy enacted in 2015 had helped the city to change from a national spring break hotspot to a more family-friendly destination all year long.
