All eyes on Amsterdam as Scots await fate
Scotland could face a showdown against Wales, Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland when the Nations League draw is made in Amsterdam at 5pm tomorrow.
Steve Clarke’s side won promotion in the last Nations League group, from League C to League B, after winning their section. That also secured them another shot at reaching this summer’s European
Championships via the play-offs, with Scotland taking on Israel later this month in a Hampden semi-final.
This time the Scots are in Pot 2 of League B along with Norway, Serbia and Finland.
They could face the Welsh, who are in Pot 1 alongside Russia, Austria and the Czech Republic. Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are both in Pot 3, along with Slovakia and Turkey.
The competition will provide two of the 12 play-off teams for the 2022 World Cup, and the matches will run from September this year to the Nations League Finals in June next year.
