Burning question

-

We have yet to close one of the most shameful chapters of historical abuse against women, and those persecuted and condemned to death as supposed witches in Scotland should be pardoned, writes Dani Garavelli.

Reality Demands To Be Heard

Who is this “we” that she is referring to? And isn’t there anything else going on a little more pertinent to the here and now that justified column inches above this?

Roastin

What a load of utter nonsense. What happened was wrong but to suggest that people in the 21st century should “apologise” for the wrongs committed by a preenlightenment society is crazy. Defrocked Reverend

We can go back in time and find many wrongs. We cannot put every past deed in to the minds of 21st century life. Some people want to remove statues because they do not agree with their modern sensibilities. Dani is living in a world where she ignores all that is wrong with her chosen political party, but is writing about the past. If there are descendants of these women seeking pardons then they can approach Holyrood. They are always looking for deflection from the state of the country.

Grumpy

Disagree. Witches were given a fair trial and found to be in
