happens. They try to e-mail staff daily to update us on the latest position and not once has redundancies been mentioned until this point!

Wes Murdiff IAS a Lothian Buses driver I can only praise the company for what they are doing to try to secure jobs for everyone during this very difficult time. Nobody is being forced to do anything and they have been contacting us daily with information regarding what’s happening. Like many other people throughout the country a great deal of us might have to accept 80% wages but I for one am happy to do this to secure the future for us all.

Lee Hawkes I’m sure the whole matter of how many drivers are working and anything to do with their wages had to be adjusted as this whole health issue has caused such a problem for everyone. Thanks to Lothian for the service, even though it probably has to be changed for the safety of the drivers.

Stop subsidising the trams from the buses – massive saving right away. If people want to use the loss-making trams they can pay more, that way we protect our bus drivers’ jobs, and keep a vital service to all communities.

To all the people who make our bus service what it is and especially just now through these trying times, a great big thank you. I am a key worker and depend on the Lothian bus service so I can get to and from work. I would work for nothing at these trying times just to help our NHS, carers, police, firefighters, shop assistants and everyone who is standing united in this. I know we will get there. So everyone take care, be safe and just keep on doing the great job you are doing.

Fat cat bosses should take a pay cut before drivers. This is an essential service and one of the best bus companies going. The council has raked in dividends from Lothian Buses for years, time to give them some support. The banks got handouts in 2008, why not Lothian Buses?

When you travel to other cities in the UK you realise how lucky we are to have

Lothian Buses, which is probably the best of its kind in Britain. The drivers are very pleasant as well, making the journey generally a good trip. As for the waste of money that is the trams, I travelled on them once to the airport and it took 45 minutes from York Place, thus ensuring I almost missed my flight.

Former SNP politician George Kerevan condemned Prince Charles’ decision to travel to Scotland when he began feeling ill with what turned out to be coronavirus as the actions of “an arrogant fool”.

I wonder whether Prince Charles, like the Queen, brought forward plans, already in place, to spend Easter at Birkhall. However, I agree he should have shelved any planned travel and stayed put when he became unwell.

We are all advised to stay at home. He should have stayed where he was. Going to your holiday home is not “staying at home”.

He has put all his servants’ lives in potential danger. He’s a muppet.

Catherine Gibson He is not going to save lives in the frontline as the NHS work force will, why does he get a test above them? He contributes nothing to Scotland.

George Murray He has come to a small community with his entourage, using up supplies meant for the locals, and if he needs a hospital bed or respirator, that will also be taken away from a local person who needs it. We were told quite bluntly to stay in your home, not second home or holiday home.
