#DOMESTICVIOLENCE

Restrictive measures imposed to flatten the coronavirus curve, including home isolation, have prompted international concerns over an increased risk of situations of domestic violence and abuse, particularlyin France.

@kjalee tweeted: “France is now trying to put in place a system where domestic violence victims can raise the alarm at pharmacies, one of few places people can visit under lockdown. Already happening in Spain’s Canary Islands, where asking for a ‘Mask 19’ at the pharmacy means ‘call the police’.”

@CNBCJOU agreed: “Awful. Domestic violence, alcoholism and mental health issues all being exacerbated by this lockdown. There will be a lot of healing to do once it’s over.”

@alexharfouche1 wondered: “Key question here, how healthy is this society that loses it over a week of lockdown? Just like the zombie credit economy, collective psyche of a binge consumerist society is built on very shaky foundations.” The Duchess of Cornwall

@Clarencehouse chimed in: “This is a hard time for everyone, as we are all asked to stay at home to stay safe. But for some of you it is even harder, because home is not a safe place.” @Bighollywood3 queried: “Why are women battering men?”

#NORTHKOREA

South Korea says North Korea has launched two short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea. Seoul called the actions “highly inappropriate” while the White House confirmed it is monitoring the situation. Conspiracy theorist @riclyf commented: “China asked them to do this. They need someone to become a bigger villain right now.”

Politicalanim13 added: “Boy am I glad Trump and he fell in love and had that summit.”

@Pedrocollector wondered: “Is it how they’re disposing of corona patients?”

@Growelove reckoned: “Dude really needs to find a pill and chill. We got too much going for extra foolishness.”

Mikey_g_bmore agreed: “Right. Not a great time for warmongering. Let’s all wait until after the bug passes.”

@Deejdelrey contributed: “Leave them alone, they’re just bored in quarantine.” An angry @Shanicesjeff tweeted: “Great. North Korea flattens the curve, we are a sinking ship, have to deal with a child in office and now monitor unknown missile ...”
