Edinburgh-based ABGI-UK hires innovation funding man

He will service clients throughout the south-west and south coast of England, helping them to accelerate and fund innovation and developmen­t projects. Beecroft joins from M&A (mergers and acquisitio­ns) firm Benchmark Internatio­nal and brings 15 years of corporate experience in exit and growth strategies for internatio­nal companies including Mercedes-benz, Hyundai Motors, Shell UK, BP, Goodyear Dunlop and J Sainsbury. ABGI-UK chief executive Scott Henderson said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Jordan to our growing UK team. His understand­ing of the corporate market and experience as a high level company adviser across a number of diverse sectors makes him an ideal fit for this role within ABGI.”

Paul Atkinson, one of the founding partners of venture capital firm Par Equity and chairman of the fast-expanding recruitmen­t services organisati­on Taranata Group, has been a renowned figure across the Scottish business and entreprene­urial landscape for many years, building value for companies in the technology and services sector, then taking them to a successful exit. His appointmen­t as strategic advisory board chairman is a huge boost for Converge as it marks its tenth anniversar­y this year.

Pearson’s remit will include leading the delivery of Glasgow’s major events strategy and the delivery and growth of the city’s portfolio of sporting and cultural events. She brings with her more than 15 years’ experience across major events, tourism and sport in Scotland and Australia. Having graduated with a degree in marketing from Edinburgh Napier University, she launched her career in roles with Scottish Rugby and Scottish Swimming. In Australia, she worked on a number of major sporting and cultural events including the 2018 Commonweal­th Games and World Rugby Sevens.
