Boris on mend

-

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has moved out of intensive care but is staying in hospital. The Prime Minister is receiving treatment for coronavirus at St Thomas’ Hospital in London.

Good to hear. It doesn’t matter what anyone thinks of him or his policies, no one should ever have to go through this nightmare.

Janet L Brook Maybe he and his colleagues will approve a pay rise for the NHS staff and other frontline workers instead of applauding and cheering when they vote against it. People have short memories and when it comes to the PM everything is about politics.

Derek Lyle Great news; hope he makes a full recovery and also the people who are now fighting it.

Anne Marjoribanks Let’s hope he has a new appreciation of the NHS and thinks twice before privatising it.

Duncan Ros Well done. Take time to recover because we need your sharp brain back in use to help this country.

Rosie Calcutt Not a Tory, never have been, but fantastic news. Hope this kind of news continues to see more people surviving this horrible virus.

Anna Meechan Gaffney Hope he has been given an injection of humility in the process.

Catherine Woodcock Frees up an intensive care bed. The downside is that he’ll be back soon enough to wreak further havoc on the country.

Garry Mclea Give him 75 per cent of the food he should get and when he asks where the rest is, just say the same place my wages are.

Greig Dargo We need you to authorise a substantial pay rise for the nurses and cancel their students debit. Clapping just isn’t enough of a gesture of gratitude.

Saroj Tiwari Well done Boris. Keep fighting. We need you strong and well.

Hilary Capes The gushing good wishes for the chap responsible for not protecting more of the population (the first priority of a PM) is misplaced. The man who wanted herd immunity, who boasted of shaking hands with Covid-19 patients and has failed to protect the NHS and investment in its resources. It offends my sense of decency.

It runs counter to any sense of community.

Colin Mckenna I’m sure if he could he would have clapped with us on Thursday night in Callander.

Elizabeth Reece-heal And that would achieve what, exactly? He has the authority to do much more than make hypocritical gestures!

Eileen Johnston Good news – and to those moaning about the clapping: my wife is a clinical nurse manager and heard it for the first time on Thursday. She was in tears, so from my family we thank you.

Rab Morrison I’m sure Boris et al will be reversing their decision to withhold our NHS staff a pay increase as a matter of priority once this is over.
