Attempted murder probe after attack

An attempted murder investigation has begun after a man was found seriously injured in a Glasgow street.

Police were called to Slatefield Street in the Gallowgate area of the city at 12:20am yesterday, when a 44-year-old man was found. He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police said that CCTV checks had shown five men, all dressed in dark clothing, to be in the area of the assault at the time and they are keen to speak to any of the unidentified men.
