Men rescued after trying to save dog

-

Two men have been rescued by the coastguard after attempting to save a dog which had fallen into water in East

Lothian. The pair went into the water at Cockenzie to save the dog, which had fallen over the seawall.

However, they themselves became stranded on rocks at the former Cockenzie power station.

Scottish Fire and Rescue staff managed to pull the dog from the water, but called in the coastguard to help with the two men, who had become inaccessible from land.
