Back to work?

It is an international embarrassment Scotland is not an independent country once again. English neighbours yes, English rulers no.

Robbie Hayes So, we get independence and on Day 1 we lose the fiscal transfer of £10 billion annually. What exactly are the thoughts of 54 per cent on how we could plug that black hole? Huge tax increases? Huge cuts in public spending? Both? – oh and before anyone says we don’t have a fiscal transfer from RUK, then why do the SNP accept we do but just kinda stay quiet about it?

The Scottish Government should be “more ambitious” on reviving the economy by autumn, Scotland Office minister Iain Stewart has said. It came as Rural Economy Secretary Fergus Ewing said he was “pretty hopeful” the country’s hospitality and tourism sector would return on 15 July.

The SNP devolved government has no ambition to jump start the economy; why would it, while it is being underwritten by Westminster as usual?

Jock Tamson

Time for Westminster to start sorting out the SNP. What are they afraid of? We voted to stay in the Union and tied to Westminster, no matter how many irresponsible votes the nationalists get from people who must think ‘Why not? I don’t want independence but I don’t like any of the others’ .

WR After a decade of the SNP and indy movement we have gone from Scotland the Brave to Scotland Behind.

The independence dependence party cannot be ambitious as they focus on blaming others for their failure in their remits. Fergus Ewing was typical of their bluster. The only thing he got right was asking the UK Treasury for more money for Holyrood over furlough. And these people want to run an independent Scotland!

Grumpy The Scottish Government cannot be more ‘ambitious’. It is too busy talking, flouncing, setting hares running, discussing irrelevancies, hairdressing, criticising, finding fault, posing, selfaggrandising and mislaying millions in pounds sterling.

Harry Heyho

The Treasury has said no more money and quite right, too.

Alastair Stevenson

Typical SNP, doing things just to be different but want more money. Pathetic lot.

William Chalmers

My My! Look at all the usual suspects that have got on their soapboxes again to slate the SNP. When are you all going to realise that you do not represent the majority of the voting populace in Scotland – which is just as well as God knows what state the country would be in then.

Craig V

Tomorrow! Get it moving, stop living in fear.

Frank Power

I will believe it when I see it.
