Accountant AAB boosts technology expertise with director appointmen­t

Accountanc­y and business advisory firm Anderson Anderson & Brown LLP (AAB) has appointed Ian Marshall as director.

It said he is an expert in working with small and medium-sized enterprise­s to provide senior finance support and business strategy advice.

He has worked with a diverse range of tech businesses, from start-ups to high-growth and turnaround.

He will be joining AAB’S business advisory group in the firm’s Edinburgh office, where he will be focused on delivering flexible finance to support tech business owners.

Marshall’s career has spanned practice and consultanc­y roles, most recently holding a Big Four post as the scale-up lead for Scotland, advising early-stage firms at incubator Codebase in Edinburgh. He will also become a key member of AAB’S tech sector team, serving as head of tech strategy, working with partner Brian Mcmurray, who leads this area. Marshall said: “I am looking forward to playing my part in further developing our offering to both new and existing clients who are looking for innovative financial solutions to support their growth plans.”

AAB chief executive Graeme Allan said Marshall’s appointmen­t “adds a new dimension to our existing capabiliti­es across our business advisory and tech teams”.

Allan added: “The tech sector in Scotland has been building considerab­le momentum over the last three years and this has only been accelerate­d in recent months.
