Academy’s players linked to pro sides
The SRU is aligning its FOSROC Academy players more closely with its two professional teams once the new 2020/21 season gets under way.
Up to 30 Stage 3 Academy players will be evenly contracted between Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh, enabling them to train daily with the professional players and helping them accelerate their development, being immersed in the pro team club culture earlier and more often in their careers than in recent seasons.
The move will put them under the eye of pro team coaches Richard Cockerill and Danny Wilson.
