Covid cases

-

No new coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Scotland for the second day running, Nicola Sturgeon has announced. However, she said 18,333 people have tested positive for the virus in Scotland – up by 18 from 18,315 on Thursday.

Common knowledge that the SNP are hopeless with figures but the more people that you test the more positive cases will increase. Hopefully someone can explain this to her before she closes another route out of this nightmare.

Tom Young Still don’t know anyone who has been tested unless it’s for work, so when will we truly know how many cases there still currently are?

Christopher Quinn Well, Scotland are barely testing, which explains the figures.

Eileen Beesley That’s the scary part, as we are only testing around 4,000 daily in a population of 5.5 million.

Anne Butler Unionists cannot contain their glee as bad news for Scotland is announced.

And the Tories are so much better with their figures, aren’t they? So much so that they have stopped their daily briefings that were full of lies anyway!

Nicola Hamilton

Why do people make this a political game? Facts needed, how many tested, how many positive.

Irene Brown

The Scottish “government” are constantly “looking” at things, when will there be actions?

John Alexander

After three months, the SG “need to look closely” at the rise? Raise the lockdown, people circulate, infection rate goes up. The man in the street can work it out. Blind men can see it.

Paul Johnston

There are always going to be new cases as the virus is here to stay.

Sheona Mcneill Got to expect it with lockdown easing.

Claire Doolan Forgetting the method of testing and the false positives that this gives, If there is more testing then this naturally gives more “positives”. More testing then gives the impression that the virus is spreading. The key figure that shows if something is occurring is the mortality rate.

Paul Finnon According to reports on the BBC, England and Wales are now pro-actively testing people who are considered at higher risk, like taxi drivers and shop workers, even where they don’t have symptoms. England is also doing extensive antibody testing for England NHS staff. In Scotland we have none of that kind of practical and targeted effort to tackle the virus.

Roastin So two days ago it was two new cases, yesterday six new cases, yesterday 18 new cases; that’s a trebling every day.

Peter Villanelle Just wondering if it was a regional cluster as in Gretna recently. We get postcode stats here.

I wondered the same. Most, if not all, of them could be concentrated in the same area of Scotland.

Not a lemming So why hasn’t track and protect been able to identify the region and people and what action is being taken?
