Week 17 highlights

Welcome to Week 17 of The Scotsman Sessions. With the performing arts world shutting down for the foreseeable future, we are commissioning a series of short video performances from artists all around the country and releasing them on scotsman. com, with introductions from our critics. This week, Ela Orleans performs her song In Spring from her flat in Glasgow’s Maryhill; Imogen Stirling reads a collaborative lockdown poem called This is the Apocalypse; Steven Osborne performs La vallée des cloches, the fifth and final piece of Ravel’s 1905 piano suite Miroirs; and Robert Elkin revisits one of the pivotal moments in Shakespeare’s Richard III, in which he took the title role last year as part of the Bard in the Botanics season in Glasgow.
