Dirty campers

months to get prepared.

Defrocked Reverend

Weren’t all those unemployed oil sector workers supposed to be retraining as teachers?

It’s one thing spouting off about recruiting all those additional teachers, but where are they coming from?

Paul Holyrood

Pubs are open, why should kids not be back at school?

Claire Doolan

How do we socially distance from the students in a tiny classroom with 30 kids? How do we help students with hands-on courses like home economics and tech education from two metres away? What happens if a teacher tests positive? Will all the students of that teacher and their families be required to stay home for two weeks as well?

Wardens are now needed to protect Scotland’s countryside from ‘trash campers’ who desecrate beauty spots, writes Kenny Macaskill.

Never understand why people want to trash their own country. I have done quite a bit of hiking in the Alps and over there locals look after their environment.

Scotland has some beautiful scenery – don’t ruin it.

Peter Lewis We were responsible motorhomers for ten years. Unfortunately, not all are the same and want everything for nothing. In Portugal the police move you on if you are parked illegally and this could be implemented here. Re car parks, height barriers are the simple answer.

Gill Colthart We need infrastructure in place and wardens to monitor visitor activity. Tourist tax needs to be introduced. I don’t understand opponents of this. We all have to pay it on holiday in Europe and it is the norm.

Sheila Mitchell In some parks in the US you are checked for everything you are taking in... then you must have everything on the way out. Heavy fines. I have signed a petition. Be a waggy finger. Film on your phone any offending with licence plate. Our countryside is so beautiful. If you cannot love it you should be banned.

Ann Slim

Littering is an offence. Hit these guys with fines. Get wardens out there. And if they persist leaving their rubbish, ban them!

Steve Perry

We have to unfortunately accept that this is what people are like and the Holyrood people should provide facilities that will allow the mess to be minimised and cleared regularly. Lecturing doesn’t work, obviously.

Ron Macfarlane

Real campers don’t leave a mess; it’s some of the people doing weekend camping.

Franny Bev

It’s the same here in the States – they just don’t care .

Eileen Campbell

It was always going to be bad in the countryside this year with the Covid lock-up.
