#CYCLETOWORK

On your bike! Yesterday was Cycle to Work Day – the UK’S biggest cycle commuting event.

@Lwdorset tweeted: “I started cycling to work at the beginning of the pandemic and it’s been so helpful to me in maintaining my mental and physical wellbeing; for me there’s no going back.”

@Tdr1nka agreed: “It’s my day off today but I will go shopping by bike, 99 per cent of my journeys are by bike.”

@johnny_bhoy09 was enjoying himself: “Out on the bike this morning before work, working from home so did a 15-mile loop through fog, a wee coffee and cannoli stop then home into the sun and back to the office (house).”

@Braininjmatters warned: “While many of us are working from home it’s always important to wear a helmet while on a bike. Cycling is a great way to keep active & we look forward to seeing our Pedal Power participants back on the greenway in the future.” An enthusiastic @Endometabpub tweeted: “First bike commute to work in five months!”

@Dundeeculture wished everyone: “Happy #Cycletoworkday Dundee!” @Rogerkingsnorth chuckled: “I’ll be cycling later to collect my beer for the usual virtual drinking session with my cycling buddies. I’m retired, so this is the best I can manage!”

#BEIRUTBLAST

A Lebanese wedding photographer dramatically captured a bride and groom getting married just as the massive explosion rocked Beirut on Tuesday night. The couple were unharmed. A relieved @T68047540 commented “I’m so glad she’s OK.”

@miapapaya agreed: “Oh my God, that was way too close... I hope nobody was standing under any windows or glass.”

@ms_vondutch noted: “The explosion was terrifying, but that wedding dress is absolutely beautiful!”

@Annawin43975289 concurred: “This is how wedding dresses should be instead of the vulgar designs swamping Western culture.”

@sugagenius93 chimed in: “Off topic – but this is an absolutely gorgeous bride!” A horrified @avanibagga reckoned: “This looks like a movie trailer... except that it’s way more horrifying to know that it’s real.”

@Summonerorthannfeklt opined: “Well, it’s a wedding to remember for sure.”
