What’s in a name?

-

In an attempt to change history the directors of RBS have decided to give up the name of their bank by changing it to National Westminster.

The RBS name – which has existed since 1727 and held in high regard for most of its existence, until the directors avariciously went on a buying spree of worthless investments – is being replaced by the name of an English bank created in 1968.

No doubt considerable expense will be incurred in rebranding Scottish banks, money which could be better spent upgrading their outdated telephone system where it can take a minimum of ten minutes, often much longer, to actually speak to an employee, identify yourself and be passed on to the wrong department.

Perhaps RBS might close most Scottish offices and, as they usually do, randomly transfer accounts to Nat West offices.
