-

A pop-up Fringe venue has been created inside the Traverse Theatre ahead of the launch of festival shows which will be broadcast from shed over the next few weeks.

Leading writers and performers are joining forces to stage the online “Shedinburgh” festival, which rill run from tonight until 5 September, to help raise funds for new artists to stage shows at the Fringe next year.

Francesca Moody, producer of the original stage production of Fleabag, and playwright and performer Gary Mcnair, have joined forces to create the programme of events, which will be streamed from reallife shops and pop-up sites at the Traverse and Soho Theatre in London.

Participants in Shedinburgh include playwrights Kieran Hurley, Tim Crough, comics Deborah Frances-white and Sara Pasco, and poet Inua Ellams. Tickets can be purchased through a “pay what you can system” for a minimum donation of £4.
