A Barbour summer-weight cotton jacket. It’s timeless.
What are you addicted to buying?
I love good English leather shoes. I appreciate the craftsmanship and the history.
Best ever bargain?
£3 for a beautiful vintage Tootal silk cravat at Portobello market was especially satisfying last year.
Who has great style?
David Beckham. He looks great whatever he wears. Nobody looks better in a baker boy cap, tweed overcoat and classic lace-up boots.
Name your favourite high street shop.
I don’t have a favourite, but I do have a great Harris tweed jacket that came from Toast.
Any fashion disasters you’d care to tell us about?
You know how it is: you’re on holiday somewhere hot. The local sun-kissed Adonises look great in vibrant skin-tight T-shirts. We’re not ourselves on holiday and, well, it turns out pink T-shirts are SO not me. I don’t know what I was thinking.
What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe?
My trusty old Barbour wax cotton jacket in classic dark green. It has lots of pockets for dog paraphernalia too. Although it’s well-worn, it’s all the better for having seen a bit of a life. ■
