Murder charge over Angus death

A 41- year- old has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a man in Angus.

Frankie Melvin, 34, died following an incident at a property in Spitalfield Place, Arbroath, on Wednesday.

Jackie Doig, of Dundee, appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday and was charged with murder. Hemade no plea and was remanded in custody.

The family of Mr Melvin have paid tribute to him, saying: “Frankie was a much- loved son. His loss will be sorely felt.”
