Biker critical after road crash at city roundabout

A biker is in a critical condition after a serious road crash near Stirling.

The incident happened on Pirnhall Stirling Services round about around 4:45pm on Sunday.

Police Scotland said it appeared the Yamaha Virago motorbike lost control and left the roadway near the junction for the A872.

Emergency services attended and the injured woman was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she is being treated for her serious injuries. Hospital staff describe the 57-year-old’s condition as critical.

Sergeant David M arr, from the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Stirling, said: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the cause of this crash and I would appeal to anyone with informatio­n to come forward.”
