England expects. . .

-

A recent poll has shown that just 13 per cent of people in England support Scotland leaving the UK. The Yougov poll revealed that nearly half the population south of the border (46 per cent) think both countries should stay together, while 34 per cent said it is up to Scotland to decide for itself

Why don’t they ask the key question: do you think the union needs to be improved or re visited to reflect a different time? It’s not a question of whether Scots leave or stay – the union needs improved because it doesn’t reflect our modern situation and Scotland needs more powers. The union need improving for various parts of the UK.

Ann Finlay The fact that 100 per cent didn’t say “it’s up to them” is quite telling.

It’d be interesting to see if they would want to go independent if they had a government that was voted in by another country.

Jamie Donoghue I’m English and a unionist. I really don’t want Scotland to leave the union but I couldn’t blame any Scot for voting to leave now.

Jack Davies Sorry, who cares what the English think? It’s up to the devolved nations and whether they think they should remain part of a broken union, deflated and failing Union.

Gary White

I think if there should be a referendum (and there shouldn’t) all four parts of the union should vote.

James Wheatcroft

Why should people in another countries have a say on whether Scots take control of their own affairs. Also, why doesn’t the same logic apply to the Uk coming out of the EU?

Bill Bell

Of course the English don’t want to see an independent Scotland. They don’t want to lose their designated driver.

Bob Fraser I’m surprised its not more than 13 per cent as the media are always saying were a financial burden,

Gill Brownlie Common sense is still alive and kicking. Thank you neighbours.

Alex Pajewski I wonder what percentage liked the idea of colonial rebels in America tossing the tea ?

Stuart Cornell The majority of Scots think England should be an independent country and stand on her own two feet instead of Scotland subsidising her.

Bill Brodie

It doesn’t matter a jot. It’s what the majority in Scotland thinks that counts.

Stephen Livingstone

You are 100 per cent correct we have had our referendum and the majority have spoken.

One word: tough
