- By EMMA NEWLANDS

Inverurie jeweller and bistro Sinclairs has secured a six-figure funding package as it navigates the effects of the pandemic, safeguarding its workforce of 30.

The family firm, which was founded in 1975 and is led by father-and- daughter duo Ian and Debbie Sinclair, has netted a £120,000 Corona virus Business Interruption Loan Scheme funding package from Royal Bank of Scotland.

The business said that not only did the sum pro - tect all of its jobs, including resident goldsmith Steve Mitchell, who manages its in-house repairs and ring-design services, it allowed it to build and replenish its stock.

Forced to close its doors during lockdown, the business reopened to the public at the end of June. The dine-in restaurant allowed it to sign up to the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme, bringing customers “floc king back” throughout August.

Partner Ian Sinclair said the support ensured the business was “in a prime position to re-open when the time was right… we’re hopeful of things to come.”
