Christmas spirit

Boris Johnson has warned actions to stop a second surge of coronavirus must be “tough now” in order to “protect” Christmas.

This year Christmas should be much more traditional. Send lots of cards, wish everyone you know well. Spend the day with immediate family only. Buy a meaningful gift locally where possible and really remember the true spirit of Christmas.

The nation spending an unnecessary fortune in the shops buying tacky, gimmicky gifts that nobody really wants, and risking everyone’s health and safety again cramming like sardines into pubs and restaurants? That’s not the true meaning of Christmas.
