Joiner revamps site for new HQ

- By EMMA NEWLANDS

An Inverness-based joinery business has bought and refurbished what it describes as a once- popular food stop in the area to create its new headquarters with help from a sixfigure funding package.

IBI Joiners mainly operates across the Highlands, Islands and Moray regions and offers joinery services for domestic and commercial projects. Recent years have seen the business – founded in 2004 and incorporated in 2010 – develop into a building company delivering construction and commercial property projects in partnership with local developers, sub- contractors and house- builder firms. It has revamped the property, which is located on the A96 between Nairn and Inverness, spans more than 5,000 square feet, and comprises three separate units, one of which is now the firm’s office base.

The other two, which are set to have a complete refurbishment fitted with high- quality finishes, will shortly be available to rent.

Founder and director Brian Innes commented: “We’re really proud to relocate to a site with high footfall as we grow our business offering and start to expand into larger and more ambitious construction projects.

“Despite several challenging months, we look forward to welcoming back our team, celebrating our tenth official birthday and continuing to develop and grow as a building and construction company.”

The firm secured the £255,000 amount to fund the refurbishment work from Royal Bank of Scotland. Gavin Maxwell, relationship manager at the lender, said: “In response to [ IBI Joiners’] growing customer base, supporting Brian and the team to fund the purchase of its new HQ has been rewarding as it embarks on the next chapter of its growth.

“I BI Joiners is a popular and well- respected business within the north of Scotland and we’re confident that it will continue to thrive.”
