Man killed after lorry collision

A man has died after the car he was driving crashed head-on with a lorry in the Highlands.

The incident happened on the A82 in Lo chab er, near Glengloy, at around 5.25pm on Monday.

A southbound green Citroen Berlingo was involved in the collision with a northbound Volvo lorry.

The 66- year-old card river, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the lorry driver was uninjured.

Motorists faced a 154mile diversion with the road closed for around nine hours as an investigat­ion took place.

Sergeant E wan Calder said :“Our thoughts are with the man's family. We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have seen either of the vehicles prior to the collision, who may have seen the crash itself or who may have dashcam footage. Anyone who can help our inquiries is asked to call 101, quoting 2566 of 26 October.”
