Boris on the road
Boris Johnson arrived in Scotland yesterday for a visit that reports suggested aimed to help “save the Union”. Police Scotland said they had received a small number of complaints about the Prime Minister breaking travel rules.
He is the leader of the UK.
Sidney Cluckie The whole of UK is his workplace, he’s the Prime Minister, he can go where he likes.
Carol Cluckie Yes, but the visit isn’t necessary and breaks lockdown rules and yet again sets the wrong example to everyone.
Les Blacklaw
It’s not essential travel!
Doreen Laing
We aren't allowed outside our local area let alone travel into another country.
Niall Mckelvie
Health is a devolved matter.
How things are within a Scottish hospital is not an area he has control over. Why is here? I suggest he is ignoring the rules. We should all work from home if possible. We should only go outside for exceptional reasons. He has made a thousand-mile trip from an area with high rates of infection for no valid reason.
Mike Mcguire
Absolutely ridiculous telling every one to isolate and stay at home, but he and his cronies up here on a jolly.
Chris Ottaway
According to Police Scotland the Prime Minister of the UK is on official business as you would expect a Prime Minister of any country to do. It seems to be upsetting a lot of people, especially independence supporters. Why? Are they so fearful that he will be trying to find out where £8.6 billion that has been given to the Scottish Government has went to?
Robert Knox
He has bled Scotland dry in true Westminster fashion. Perhaps he has come to gather up any loose change his tax collectors forgot to gather.
Gordon Drummond How has “he” bled Scotland dry? I think you need to look much, much closer to home for those that have bled Scotland dry. The devolved assembly is very fond of handing out taxpayers’ money for vanity projects and for court cases that were unnecessary. What have they done with the money that was given for businesses and Covid?
Marie Milne He's working – are people going to report everyone else who is travelling between London and Scotland who are working?
Aileen Candlish
Boris Johnson is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, he should visit. If he hadn’t it would be Boris has abandoned Scotland.
Kirsty Inkpen
Why does he need to come? Nicola Sturgeon is doing a far better job. I’ve never been an SNP person but she’s gone up in my estimation with the way she's handled it.
